The Republican Project (NOT affiliated with the Maine Republican Party) is seeking an honest, knowledgeable, open, thoughtful individual with a working moral compass (sorry Gov. Sanford) and a passion for the State of Maine and its people, to run for Governor in 2010.
Interested applicants must be registered Republicans and meet statutory requirements for age and residency (for this job you MUST be born in the United Sates – sorry Mr. President).
Requirements for support from the Republican Project to fill this position are simple – you need only support the basic principles of Maine’s Republican Party Platform, including:
- Support of our military and its mission
- Support of 2nd Amendment rights
- Freedom of religious expression
- Support of free enterprise and individual initiative
- Free market solutions to health care access
- Individual property rights
- Smaller government
- Opposition to illegal immigration
- Fiscal restraint and reduced taxes
- Family values, including the sanctity of life and the preservation of traditional marriage
- Parents should be making decisions for their minor children, not the schools
The platform in its entirety can be found at the Maine GOP State Committee’s web site:
http://www.mainegop.com/PlatformMission.aspx
(But be warned – while the Maine Republican State Committee has a history of not holding Republicans accountable to the Party’s platform, THE REPUBLICAN PROJECT WILL.)
Salary is $70,000.00 per year plus room, board, and other perks. (Lowest in the country – but considering the performance of the outgoing job holder, it is more than fair. Perhaps you can improve on that?)
Job is for four years with an option to the people of Maine to extend it for four more.
Successful candidates will receive the support of The Republican Project in the 2010 gubernatorial election. We are an equal opportunity supporter when it comes to race, gender, age, etc. However, those who can not uphold the conservative fiscal and social values of the Republican Party platform need not apply. We have enough of those already!
Interested applicants should submit their resume to info@republicanproject.org

There’s just one problem.
The Maine Constitution does not require one to be born in the U.S. or even in Maine to serve as governor of our state.
Gordo, that's a great ad - strangely enough, one person comes to mind after reading it. I think we should take a look at whose in our own organization.
I agree it is a great ad. The stakes are high, Les Otten is running as a Republican and the left side is loaded up with the usual puppets.
