They Must Think Maine Parents Are Really Dumb!
As the mother of a combined family of 12 children educated in Maine schools, grandmother to 14 and the wife of a school teacher, I find the attempts of homosexual marriage activists to try to convince us that it would not be required to be taught to our children in school to be almost insulting. They must think we are really dumb!

Deer in the Headlights over LD 1020
After many conversations in person and online, I am noticing that few people are seeing the same sex marriage issue from a certain perspective that is difficult to understand through any kind of quick or simple explanation. But when I have succeeded, the person; both for or against same sex marriage; gets that "deer in the headlights" look on their face. I had the look myself one day. This vantage point cannot be condensed to a bumper sticker word or phrase.
$40,000 In Debt
I felt a great deal of hope today as I stood with my fellow citizens at the Maine State Pier Tea Party. The words of the speakers were inspiring. The unity of a group of people who love America and understand the Constitution was awsome.
But the most profound words; the words that brought me to tears came from a little ten year old girl. She stepped up to the Republican Project table and asked how much did the ball cap cost. Our conversation went like this:
A Tale of Two Rights
Same sex marriage legislation (LD 1020) forces a painful debate because it deals with feelings and rights. On the one hand we have compassion for those who seek equal dignity and recognition before the law and society regarding their homosexual love. On the other hand we have compassion for the infant who comes into the world with the seeds of desire to know and be known by; love and be loved by the two people whose sperm and egg made them mortal.
