It’s Time To Get After Our Senators- Again!

Now that the latest assault on the American people has passed the House in the form the Waxman-Markey Energy Bill, or as I prefer to characterize it, the Cap & Tax Act, it is time to ratchet up the pressure on the Senate to make sure this travesty does not become law.

Here in Maine we have a couple of Senators that have a history of supporting this type of misguided legislation. Last year, both Collins and Snowe voted in favor of the Warner-Lieberman Cap & Tax plan. At that time I wrote this article about their decision to support this thinly-veiled money grab. The facts are basically the same- this legislation is nothing more than a multi-trillion dollar tax scheme, aimed only at flooding the Federal coffers with yet more of our wealth to be squandered.

Let’s get in front of Snowe and Collins NOW! Contact them by phone, email, fax and by letter and express YOUR thoughts about this legislation. Despite their proclivity to not listen to their constituents as evidenced by their voting on the Stimulus Plan and Omnibus Bill, perhaps this time they will get the message.

Below is the contact information for the Maine senators:

I have already contacted both senators. I really hope that a lot of people will do the same thing.

These two senators have not acted like republicans for a long time. I think that they have over stayed their welcome. The Maine GOP needs to support some fresh meat for these positions.

Yesterday there was a report of an EPA study that is being suppressed by the Obama administration. Apparently this report is critical of the junk science behind global warming/cooling claims.

Senator Inhofe has publicly asked for the release of this report. I encourage you to prod our two senators to join Inhofe in pressing for the report's release.
